Brilliant oceanside location in La Jolla for rhe Concours
It may be fitting that when translated into Spanish, La Jolla means "the jewel", because La Jolla is regarded by many as a diamond of the West Coast. La Jolla has become the embodiment of luxury, class and style in San Diego. The allure of this chic coastal community has drawn some of the finest automobiles in the country and the presence of these classics draws spectators from all over the nation.
The Concours d’Elegance event features automobile gems in many categories. Past years have showcased horseless carriages, exotic Italian cars, British Jaguara and Bentleys, woodies, 50s classics, American sports cars (with a salute to GM on their 100th anniversary), and the automobiles of Carroll Shelby.
Admission offers the visitor a chance to view over 150 spectacularly restored vehicles that will be displayed on the La Jolla Cove lawn alongside the Pacific Ocean. This collection can be regarded as a display of “moving sculpture,” with each automobile seeming rarer and more beautiful than the last. In addition to the spectacular display on the Concours lawn, guests can also turn their attention to the sky for a spectacular vintage aviation show featuring the finest restored aircrafts from yesteryear.
