TASTE News Service, May 1, 2017 - As road trip season gears up, Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite— a resort two miles from the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park— is now an ideal basecamp for those traveling eco-friendly thanks to the recent installation of eight Tesla Supercharging Stations.

Tenaya's Superchargers are located in the resort's parking lot, near existing level 2 electric vehicle charging stations. The Tesla chargers are the fastest in the world, allowing Tesla vehicles to typically recharge in under an hour. Drivers can use the Tesla “Trip Planner” navigation platform to plan for long distance travel and easily locate charging stations along their route.

“Tenaya's Superchargers make it possible for owners of the green vehicle to easily experience the splendor of the High Sierra and Yosemite,” said Kathrin Poetter, director of sales and marketing for the resort. “With many of our visitors coming from popular Tesla markets such as the Bay Area and Southern California, we anticipate this being an attractive amenity to our guests.”

While drivers wait for their vehicle to charge, they have access to Tenaya's amenities including numerous dining venues, a full-service spa and seasonal outdoor activitie. Those who want to spend more time can choose to stay the night in one of the resort's newly renovated rooms, suites and cottages.

The installation of the Superchargers marks the next step in Tenaya's commitment to keeping treasured places like the Sierra Nevada environmentally friendly. In partnership with parent company, Delaware North, Tenaya's revolutionary GreenPath Program and sustainability programs are committed to minimizing environmental impact and making positive changes.

Through energy efficiency, water conservation, and local food sourcing, Tenaya's green efforts have led to a dual LEED Silver certification, high rating with the California Green Lodging Program and Green Key, and a Gold Level in the TripAdvisor GreenLeaders Program.
