The City of Lancaster celebrates California's state flower over two days each spring.
This high desert community is located in the beautiful Antelope Valley about 70 miles north of downtown Los Angeles and surrounding hills will be covered with the wild poppies.

Billed as a "Triathalon of the Art World," this Humboldt County tradition is celebrating its 48th year in 2017. The Kinetic Grand Championship showcases art, engineering and athleticism.
Kinetic sculptures are human-powered, all-terrain art sculptures that are engineered to race over land, sea, mud and water. Organizers of the three-day event tell us it's popular family entertainment and it sure looks like fun to Taste California Travel.
