Pushing the Envelope
By Dan Clarke
May 30, 2016 -I really wanted to like this beer. I tried, but failed.
Pinot Suave is a new product from Deschutes Brewery. Almost all their beers have been popular with staff and guest reviewers for our publications over the years.
This one is billed as a Belgian-style ale “aged in Pinot Noir barrels that were filled with Pinot grape must.” The prospect certainly sounded intriguing. I love good Pinot Noir, whether from Burgundy, California, Oregon or even other parts of the world. Pinot Suave is from the Deschutes Brewery’s Reserve Series. Even the label has a sophisticated, understated appearance.
